We have expansive experience in “dog psychology”, dog behaivour and dog training skills, and want to share that knowledge with dedicated dog lovers interested in developing greater communication skills with their beloved K9. A ‘Pets As Therapy Correspondence Course’ is now available nationally and internationally to community spirited people wanting to share the joys and many benefits pets have to offer, with challenged people.
The course is equally educational to people wanting to become volunteers as it is to health care workers intending to commence a ‘pets as therapy’ program at their facility.
It is a home-study course of approximately 50 hours. The course includes:
*Essential health and safety procedures for a ‘pets as therapy’ program.
*A foundation in the types of physical, social, emotional and intellectual challenges adults and children may be experiencing at facilities.
*How to safely interact with clients, with a pet to the fullest benefit of the clients individual needs.
